Fox Is Moving Forward With Another Agatha Christie Novel Adaptation

While Murder On The Orient Express may not have been number one at the box office, it’s still pulled in over $150 million worldwide since its November 10 opening. With such big numbers, Twentieth Century Fox has decided to move forward with another adaptation of a famous Agatha Christie Hercule Poirot mystery.

Death on the Nile will be the next murder mystery that Fox adapts, and it is expected that five-time Oscar nominee Kenneth Branagh will direct and star in it as well. The novel was first published in 1937, and follows Poirot on an Egyptian vacation, where he becomes entangled in a murder mystery surrounding a love triangle. Once again there are plenty of characters that could potentially see some of the biggest names in Hollywood star as. The novel has been one of Christie’s most popular works since it was first published.

Murder on the Orient Express was made for just $55 million, and has an all-star cast including Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer and Daisy Ridley. Branagh starred in the film as Hercule Poirot and directed the film as well.

As for a release date, that hasn’t been determined as of yet, but it could hit theatres worldwide sometime in 2019.
